We have now concluded 2 Tuesday night TTs. The electronic timing system supported by Mobii is proving to be efficient. Some minor adjustments will be required but we are very happy with the progress.
Transponders have been handed to a number of paddlers and the registration of these has been concluded. Please be advised that payment for these is now required. See below for details.
Paddlers without transponders wishing to paddle on Tuesday TTs and wanting their times to be recorded will need to register on-line to receive a transponder. A link on the PCC website will soon be added to allow registration. We will also have someone at the TT helping out.
The transponders will have to paid for. They cost R 350.00 per transponder. Fully paid up club members (2020 season) need only pay R200.00 and the club will sponsor the balance.
Non-members will need to pay the full amount – R 350.00.
Lost transponders can be replaced at R 350.00. Their estimated lifespan is 10 years
Those in possession need to pay as indicated please. No payment then no recorded times.
New registrations will only be issued once payment has been received.( POP)
Payment details : Peninsula Canoe Club – Standard Bank Claremont – Br No. 025109 – Account No. 070491615 – Ref: Name + Mobii.
SnapScan is also available. We will not be taking cash for these at the time trial.
The transponder must be attached to the front of the canoe 120cms from the tip with the letter M on the cockpit side. They are solar powered and require some sunshine every three weeks or so.
We will assist when handing out at the club.
Once you have registered and have your transponder, download the Mobii app where you can enter for the respective TT on the day, including the distance you are paddling.
Should you change your mind at the paddle either before or after let the official know. This will be easily remedied.
K2 and K3 paddlers must at this stage let the official know and hand in all paddlers’ names but use only one transponder – front paddler.
The TT is free to all paid-up PCC club members. Non-members and social members are requested to sign the register and place R30.00 in the box provided. This is an honesty system. All contributions support our Athlete Dev Programme
