Access Tag Rules

·      On receipt of a R30 refundable deposit, an access tag will be issued to you; these can be collected from the Club Manager when your membership registration is finalised.

·      Access Tags and Access Control are administered by the ZSC Club Manager, Carol, who is based at the Club and can be reached by phoning 0217884813 or 0729259092.

·      For new members, please contact Carol a day or two before you wish to collect your tag so that she can ensure that it is ready.

·      You must have your access tag scanned for security reasons and for verification of membership at all access-controlled doors and gates.

·      You must allow the gate to close normally behind the car entering or exiting ahead of you (no tailgating).

·      The tags provide access to:

§  Secure parking area (Entrance and Exit Gates)

§  Male or Female Changing Rooms

§  Rear Boat Racks (only if you rent one)

·      When the tag is scanned, the computerised security system logs the identity of the member and the time of entry. Any unusual patterns of use or unauthorised use are also recorded.

·      If a gate or door has been opened with your tag you are responsible for ensuring that it is closed behind you.  

·      If a gate or door is left open (whether by interfering with the self-closing mechanism or otherwise) the system will show you as the last person accessing the area and you will be called to account and held liable for any problems which may arise as a result of your actions or negligence.

·      You may not lend your access tag to anyone else as membership is personal and not transferable. If you allow your access tag to be used by anyone else, your membership may be terminated.

·      Your tag may not be used to provide access for non-members to habitually gain access and you must comply with the spirit of the governing Club constitutional rule regarding non-members. If someone does not have an active tag, they are to be assumed to be either a non-member or no longer a member.

·      Your membership may not be traded, transferred or assigned to any other person.

·      All members (including all junior members) must have their own access tag. A concession is made for family members under the age of 12 years who may share the tag of a parent of the same sex.

·      Non-member parents of juniors may acquire a maximum of two Parent’s Tags to aid in the ferrying of their children. Each tag is to be assigned to a separate name. Whilst on Club premises, Parent Tag holders will be accorded the status of Visiting Member and subject to all the same regulations applicable to members.

·      Access will be denied if membership fees are in arrears.

·      The Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate the membership of any member interfering or tampering with the security access control system.

·      If you've lost your access tag, report it as soon as possible so we can deactivate it. A new one will be issued to you at the going rate.

·      If your tag is not granting you access, please contact the Club Manager as soon as possible, as there may be a power failure affecting the system or an issue involving your membership.

Please Note: Your tag can only be issued after your membership has been processed; Peter Calitz generously donates every Saturday morning to do this. Peter then notifies Carol when all your membership is in order and asks her to prepare a tag. What this means is that the earliest your tag will be available is the Tuesday after the first weekend following the submission of all the correct paperwork and proof of payment for your membership. There is an absolute minimum of four days if Peter receives your application first thing on a Saturday morning.

A gentle reminder from our constitution about non-members using our Club:

GUESTS   

23.               (a)    The introduction by Members of Guests, including those who may be eligible for membership, on Club premises is permitted.  Persons eligible for membership, however, may not habitually make use of the Club premises and the Committee may forbid the introducing of any person as a Guest for any reason it considers sufficient.  A Member introducing a Guest shall forthwith enter his or her name and address in a Visitor’s book provided for the purpose.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

(b)    Every member introducing a Guest shall be responsible for the conduct of such Guest while in the Club.
