ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

TO BE HELD AT THE CLUB HOUSE, ZANDVLEI

TUESDAY 6th MARCH 2012 AT 20HOO

The Annual General Meeting of your club, Peninsula Canoe Club, has been scheduled for Tuesday 6th March at 20h00, after the first time-trial of the Winter Series.

Together we’ve achieved a lot in 2011, and to keep the momentum going we do need the help, support and input of all members. As in all worthwhile things in life, the more you put into the club the more you will get out of it - the club can only be as successful as the members help it to be!

The goal of the club and the committee is to provide a home from which to promote the sport of paddling, and to make it an enjoyable and rewarding activity for all members. As a member of PCC, the AGM is the most important event that you should attend on the club’s calendar as according to the club’s own rules, no decisions can be made about the on-going functioning of the club without a quorum of members being present.

We each have the capacity to offer some sort of contribution to the organisation of the club during the coming year, and to take pride in the fact that we are giving back to the sport that we love. By spreading the load, no single individual is overburdened, and a wonderful sense of camaraderie born of shared responsibility permeates throughout the club. This paves the way to maintaining the reputation of our superb club as arguably the best in the country, providing a well organised, supportive and friendly home for a broad spectrum of paddlers which ranges from absolute beginners to an exceptionally high number of world-class or international athletes.

Please make every effort to attend the forthcoming AGM as there are always important issues to be addressed and your input is valued. Please RSVP to this invitation so we can consider organising refreshments for attendees.

Please note that the Club Constitution requires that motions need to be received by the Secretary, Dean Richards at  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  at least 14 days before the AGM and nominations for positions on the Committee (duly proposed, seconded and with the nominee’s consent) at least 7 days before the AGM. Information on positions to become vacant will be given in later communications.
